Maltz Performing Arts Center
Cleveland, Ohio
(first phase completed 2015)

Guiding a Cultural Gem to Life
The first anchor on CWRU’s West Campus—and a civic asset for the City—is the repurposing of a historic landmark synagogue into an integrated performing arts center for music, theater and dance. ReThink Advisors guided the building program that emerged from an earlier vision, led the complex approval process with the City, and spearheaded neighborhood engagement.
Working with the President of CWRU, ReThink was instrumental in getting all stakeholders to embrace a new approach that would protect the investments made by CWRU and donors while broadening the artistic reach of the center for the larger community. Since opening in 2015, the Maltz Center is an unqualified success, adding an intimate, world-class venue to the University Circle arts and culture district.
