Launched in 2008 by Irwin Lowenstein, ReThink Advisors taps a multi-disciplinary network of consultants to work with Anchor Institutions, Municipal Governments and Community Development Organizations that are planning, building and leveraging strategic investments or seeking systemic change. Utilizing a holistic systems-thinking approach – coupled with hands-on project management expertise – we guide projects toward their maximal civic impact.
Irwin Lowenstein

President, ReThink Advisors
Irwin is the founder and president of ReThink Advisors. He brings 35 years of experience in urban design, planning, architecture and development to realize large-scale urban regeneration projects on behalf of his clients, including Case Western Reserve University, MetroHealth Systems and the City of Lakewood. A registered architect, Irwin earned his BArch degree at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to forming ReThink Advisors in 2008, Irwin was the founder and a principal of Lowenstein Durante Architects where he supervised major projects for the firm. Irwin has also been an adjunct assistant professor in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University and served as a member of the City of Shaker Heights Landmark Commission. Irwin has served on numerous nonprofit boards including the Cleveland Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, Jewish Family Service Association, and he was a partner in Cleveland Social Venture Partners, a network of engaged philanthropists. Irwin is a LEED Accredited Professional and an EcoDistricts Accredited Professional.

Mark “Puck” Mykleby

Chief Strategy Officer, Long Haul Capital Group, LLC
Mark is the co-founder and chief strategy officer of Long Haul Capital Group, LLC. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1987 and served as a Marine fighter pilot. From June 2007 until July 2009, he developed strategy at the U.S. Special Operations Command. From July 2009 until April 2011, he served as a special strategic assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. From September 2014 through February 2017, he was the co-director of the Strategic Innovation Lab at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management. During that time, Mark co-authored The New Grand Strategy: Restoring America’s Prosperity, Security and Sustainability in the 21st Century. He is a widely sought after speaker on topics ranging from national security to sustainability and an EcoDistricts Accredited Professional.
Michael Peters

President, Coventry Land Company and Managing Director of Products, Long Haul Capital Group, LLC
Michael mixes a background in public policy, investment banking and sustainability with a focus on how walkable places are created, financed, and programmed. Prior to his consulting work, he led Europe and the Middle East for the real estate investment banking group of Wells Fargo and also held positions at Citibank and Huntington National Bank. He has lived and worked in Chicago, New York and London and now resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Michael received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and graduate degree from New York University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Passive House Consultant and Builder, Green Roof Professional and an EcoDistricts Accredited Professional.
